Memories
July 19,2015 our little Miss Ellie came into the world and what a wonderful day it was.
I had never watched any of my grandchildren come into the world but then again I could understand why. If there is a time when a mother and daughter share a special time, it would be when her daughter is giving birth but this time my son and his wife invited both of us mom's to witness God's gift to the world, the birth of a child.
It is a wonder watching babies grow up into adulthood. Right now I'm watching our next door neighbor get ready to go back to college for her Senior year. I know her mom must be thinking of how proud she of her beautiful daughter and again will miss her as she packs her car to start her last year of college. Although mom may think this is the end of just one part of her daughter's life but the door to the rest of her life has yet to open with so many surprises, laughter, some tears of sorrow and joy, it has only begun.
I have been blessed to most of these because I have four sons and daughter in-laws. I watch them make their own plans and sit back and remember how Paul and I did the same. It is called life and there is so much to it. I remember so much of our lives and how we laughed, shared our lives with good friends and family. Although I have to admit going thru some scary times I fear how my son and their little families will do.
In the past years my mother and I have spent hours upon hours sifting thru years of memories and I love it. She talks a lot of her parents and the difficult times of the depression and parties in later years. She had to raise the last few of her brothers and sisters since she was the oldest daughter. I sit her now and smile and watch as our family takes care of their lives and pray that all goes well with the guidance of Paul and I and God.
